The biggest struggles that I have found with people that I work with and are new to this industry are:
- Technical Challenges - Many of us are baby boomers and didn't grow up with computers. This is a huge challenge but as long as you are willing to get the education either through classes, friends, the family geek or self education you can learn to use this tool. The reality is, you have to or you will not succeed! If you want to be an Marketer in any capacity the world has moved to the "web" and you need to have a presence here.
- Business Challenges - How do I set up a business?, What tools do I need?, What kinds of things do I need to know about taxes? All good questions you want to ask yourself. I am not a tax or legal professional, but I use tools like MLM Tax Helper, and information from Ron Mueller's Tax advantage courses and books.
- Sales Skills - There is a way to be effective in sales without pitching your prospects. This is an educational process and different from what you may have been taught by your upline.. the truth is if what you are doing is working, don't fix it, if its not you need education on how to be effective. I recommend The Direct Selling Academy and Jeff Zalewski for this education.
- Marketing Skills - Most people struggle with this, it sounds really scary. Marketing is nothing more than knowing how to implement good advertising to your specific niche market in a way that will benefit you the most. I utilize the Renegade Network Marketer ebook and Affiliate System to help others through this process
I want to share with anyone who visits my site the tools and resources I have found helpful in my journey into Network/Internet/Affiliate Marketing in the most unbiased way possible and will not recommend anything I do not have either personal or positive feedback from those in my circle of influence.
No one way is the right way, we all do this differently and all have different results. If you have reached the place in your life that you have decided to start yourself on the path of being an entrepreneur then I congratulate you on that decision.
Having said that I want to share a few things that I believe are "Truths" for this industry.
- Not everyone can do this.
- Self education is a must. If you need someone to hold your hand they are out there but you will pay for that service and if you have the budget, you should.
- You must have a marketing budget realistically between 150.00-300.00 per month to invest in your business, tools and education. While you can get free and affordable information and tools, if you don't have money to invest in your business it will be very challenging.
- You are starting a business and as such you must change your way of thinking from the "job" mentality to the "entrepreneur" mentality and act accordingly.
- There are no magic bullets or quick fixes - no one program, squeeze page, method, or modality that will make this work you will need to work with your unique talents and learn how to implement effective skills.
- If you have little time you need lots of money, if you have little money you need lots of time to be successful. If you have little of both you may want to reconsider your decision to start a business.
- Businesses are not built in a week or a month but will take years depending on the skills you need to obtain and you have to have that kind of ongoing dedication to your goal to attain it.
